Nan Madol Filler

Nan Madol Ruins

Nan Madol is one of the most mysterious and awe-inspiring sites in the Pacific. Often called the “Venice of Micronesia,” this ancient city was built on a network of nearly 100+ man-made islets linked by canals, using massive basalt stones whose origins and construction methods still baffle historians. Whether you visit by boat or hike in from land, walking among the ruins—once a sacred and political center of the Saudeleur dynasty—is an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by lush mangroves and steeped in legend, Nan Madol feels like stepping into another world.

Atoll Filler

Outer Atoll Excursions

Ahnd and Pakin Atolls are two of Pohnpei’s crown jewels—remote, untouched, and breathtaking. Located 10 and 30 miles offshore respectively, these atolls offer unforgettable adventures in some of the clearest, bluest water you’ll ever see. Ahnd Atoll often includes a stop at Pasa island, where you can relax on pristine white sand with an entire beach to yourself. Guests often tell us it’s the most beautiful place they’ve ever been. Pakin Atoll, more remote and less accessible, is typically explored by boat—circling the reef, diving pristine drop-offs, snorkeling untouched passes, or spotting seabirds in flight. Both atolls are also home to world-class diving and deep-sea fishing, depending on the season. Nearby Nahlap and Black Coral Island, two tranquil local-style resorts on the barrier reef, offer bungalows and quiet island charm. Black Coral is a designated marine protected area, known for its seasonal grouper spawning and healthy reef life. Whether you’re chasing dolphins offshore, snorkeling through coral gardens, or just soaking in the silence, these islands are the kind of places you have to see to believe—and once you do, you’ll never forget them. And if there’s something we can’t offer, we’ll point you to a trusted friend who can—every corner of Pohnpei holds another adventure.

Ant and Pakin are located 10 and 30 miles off shore, respectively. Incredible diving, deep sea fishing, beaches, reef passes, snorkeling, and bird watching. All the guests we have taken there said these are the most beautiful beaches and unreal water they have ever been to or seen in their lives. Other places you have to visit in order to enjoy the feeling and understand the islands are Nahlap and Black Coral. These two islands are located on the barrier reef on the southwest side of the island — tranquil local style resorts with thatch roof bungalows. Black Coral is a Marine Protected area where fish such as grouper spawn during certain times of the year.
